Thirty centimetres of fresh snow fell overnight and in the early morning hours, causing the second postponement of the Pontiac GMC Canadian Championships' women's giant slalom in as many days.
While the new snow delighted Whistler-Blackcomb guests and management, it made it impossible for course workers to prepare the giant slalom course in time to get both runs off on Saturday.
A decision will be made at the team captains' meeting at 3 p.m. PST on Saturday as to how race organizers will proceed with the week's schedule.
Racers are vying for national titles at the Pontiac GMC Canadian Championships. This year's two slalom titles have been claimed by Britt Janyk and Thomas Grandi.
