Fearing diminishing snow conditions, coaches Dale Stephens and Darren Thorburn elected to take the guys to Mt. Hood a little earlier than originally planned. The decision appears to have been a good one and conditions have held up very well for them.
“There is less snow than normal at this time of year, but the training has been great”, Stephens reports. “It is clear and cool at night, so the snow is good and hard in the morning. It is quite crowded, as many teams have moved their camps up in order to get training done before more snow is lost.”
The team arrived at Mt. Hood on August 10th, with eight scheduled on-snow days, as well as one 'mid-camp' day off. They plan to return home after skiing on Tuesday, August 19th.
