After four days of a six-day FIS Best with the Best (B2B) camp, the on-hill improvement and progress of the 13 attending athletes is hitting full stride.
“The athletes and coaches have gelled together really well and it is showing in the athlete's progress on the hill,” said Gordie Bowles, Program Director for BC Alpine. “This is a great opportunity for our top-level FIS athletes to push their ability and skill level higher. The coaches also learn from each other in this environment as we search for ways to raise our standards of excellence and prepare our athletes for the season and for the next level.”
Besides the on-hill training, the athletes have been exposed to classroom and dryland training sessions dealing with topics such as sport health awareness, core strength, agility and coordination, recovery and regeneration. The Apex camp, which is focused on Slalom and GS, will conclude Friday. The B2B team will re-group in Panorama at the end of the month for a six-day Super-G and GS camp.
