After competing in two downhill races at the CIBC Nor Am Cup last week in Lake Louise, AB, athletes from across North America, as well as some international competitors, took to the slick and icy super-G track at Panorama Mountain Village today. Coaches and course crew worked hard late into the night injecting water into the soft track and athletes reported the top section of the course to be extremely slick.
B.C. athletes stole the show on both the women's and men's sides, with BC Ski Team's Danielle Poleschuck (Fernie, BC) and Canadian Development Team rookie Robbie Dixon (North Vancouver) winning the prized gold.
Women's Race:
Danielle Poleschuk from Fernie, B.C. skied to the fastest time of the day, winning the race in one minute, 24.71 seconds. This is a second Nor Am super G win for Poleschuk
