National team member Jan Hudec of Banff, Alta., who was out for more than a year with a serious knee injury, took another giant step in his comeback bid Monday with a victory in the men's giant slalom at the Pontiac GMC Cup at Silver Star Mountain Resort.
In the men's GS, Hudec lead the field in two minutes, 28.07 second over two runs. Jeff Hume of Whistler, B.C., who officially retired from the national team this past December, took the silver in 2:29.73 while Jeff Crompton of Calgary was third in 2:30.44.
