BC Ski Team's Alison Leighton (Whistler) had the Silver Medal performance of the day!
After several postponed races and a lot of anticipation at the Pontiac GMC Canadian Championships, the women finally set their tracks on Dave Murray Downhill run to duke it out for the Championship super-G title. Hometown racer Britt Janyk continued to prove herself as a speed queen, taking the gold in one minute, 21.49 seconds. The silver medal belonged to BC Team's Alison Leighton, also of Whistler, who charged into second place in 1:22.28. “Super-G is my best discipline so I felt very confident in the start today,” told Leighton. Joining Leighton in the top-15 were Lindsay Kraft (BCST/Vernon) in 8th place and Elli Terwiel (OST/Sun Peaks) in 15th.
