Windermere Valley Ski Club and BC Alpine say Goodbye to Iron Simek - BC Alpine Ski Association

There are no words that can easily convey the message that our dear friend Iron Simek passed away Tuesday night in Calgary at 5PM. For those of us who were blessed with the opportunity to call him friend, it is truly a sad day. There are many things we will all miss, but I doubt we will ever forget his great smile and enthusiasm. I am sure he would not want us to be without hope as he always looked for the best in every situation. Please lift up Carol and Madison in your thoughts and prayers. ~ Gordon Bagan, President -Windermere Valley Ski Club

Iron was a dedicated volunteer for the Windermere Valley Ski Club and BC Alpine. For many years he was our SAM at every event in Panorama. His infectious smile and positive personality made him the perfect guy to host our sponsors at countless races over the past decade. He never missed a race and was always committed to helping our sport. We at BC Alpine will miss him and our thoughts are with his wife Carol and his daughter Madison, a FIS racer with the Windermere Valley Ski Club. ~ Bruce Goldsmid, BC Alpine

There will be a gathering of friends on Saturday April 21 at 2PM at the Great Hall in Panorama.
