Cypress, Grouse Tyee & Seymour Team Up at Vancouver's Santa Claus Parade - BC Alpine Ski Association

With teamwork and cooperation, it’s amazing what three ski clubs can come up with!

Volunteers from Cypress, Mt. Seymour and Grouse Tyee Ski Clubs pooled their collective creative energies to build an impressive float for Sunday’s annual Santa Claus Parade in Vancouver. Their large presence in the parade, along with the many young racers and parents who accompanied the float through the downtown streets, helped to promote the local Rio Tinto Alcan Nancy Greene Ski League programs.

Evidently the spectacular float garnered many compliments, leaving everyone feeling that it was well worth the effort. All the labour and materials were donated and they could not have done it without the help and generosity of the folks at Parkway Towing. Thanks Curt and Mike at Parkway for donating the best looking truck (and driver) in the parade.

Great job on the part of the four parade organizers – Anthea Brown (Mt. Seymour Ski Club), Helen Ritts (Cypress Ski Club), Brenda Slay (GrouseTyee Ski Club), and Marketa Kapur (Mt. Seymour Ski Club). This was months in the making!
