Position: Men’s BC Ski Team Head Coach
Athlete Planning/Evaluation
• Ensure welfare and health of athletes
• Review risk management policy and adhere to all BC Alpine policies
• Provide timely program evaluations and recommendations
• Be responsible for the entire program design and coaching of the BCST
• Manage all support staff (Assistant coach, dryland trainer, sport psychologist)
Athlete Training/Competition Program
• Conduct all on snow training and attend all appropriate competitions
• Conduct physical conditioning and psychological preparation and training as designated
• Manage all parent and athlete communication
External Relations
• Maintain appropriate relations with other provincial teams
• Liaise with appropriate race organizing committees
• Liaise with supplier representatives
• Act as team contact with media
• Liaise with the CSCF on technical matters
• Service BCST sponsors
• Manage all Nor Am entries for BC Alpine
Administration/Logistics
• Create annual budget – track and submit travel expenses in a timely manner
• Manage team transportation and accommodations
• Service and inventory all equipment
• Adhere to the coaching code of conduct and harassment policies of BC Alpine
Communication/General
• Attend meetings as required and requested
• Recommend amendments for the BCST selection criteria
Requirements of the Coach
• Working towards fully certifies CSCF Level IV certification or foreign equivalency
• Exceptional administrative capabilities
• International excellence coaching and/or racing experience
• Extensive experience in managing staff
• Track record of successful international results as the FIS level
• Excellent international references
• Knowledge of more than one language is an asset
