NEWS FROM ALPINE CANADA
VANCOUVER, B.C. (Oct. 14, 2011) – He’s been a fixture on the World Cup circuit since 2004, but you might notice something a little different about the 2011 edition of slalom ace Mike Janyk.
The two-time Olympian unveiled a new look last week – including a new website, personal logo and video – at a launch party in Vancouver. And when the 29-year-old shows up in the start gate in Levi, Finland, next month, for the opening slalom race of the 2011-12 World Cup season, you might also see a new spring in his step.
“This really feels like the start of the next stage of my career,” said the Whistler, B.C., native. “In the years up to now I was building a career, trying to establish myself – building a base, almost. All athletes say they want to win, but now when I say it there’s so much more behind it.”
