Hosted by Grouse Mountain Tyee Ski Club, the Coast Zone Teck Series race took place at Grouse Mountain Resort on February 10 and 11, 2023, with 43 women and 77 men signed up to compete in giant slalom and slalom race events. Athletes from Whistler Mountain Ski Club, Cypress Ski Club, Mt Washington Ski Club, Mt Seymour Ski Club, and Sasquatch Mountain Ski Club joined the Grouse Tyee for two days of racing in very challenging weather conditions. In spite of rapidly changing weather, from hail to rain to fog, athletes persevered. One parent reported that athletes could only see two gates at a time during the foggy spells!

On Friday, spectators were delighted to see the entire width of the Deliverance run at Grouse Mountain converted into a GS course, making the event extra special to watch.

Thank you to the many volunteers, coaches, and sponsors who worked so hard to make this event come together successfully. Congratulations also to all the athletes on racing in “classic Grouse” conditions.
