The Red Mountain Racers and RED Mountain Resort did it again! More than 200 keen ski racers from Saskatchewan to BC battled it out during two days of slalom and two days of GS at the Teck U16 Western Canadian Championships. Two ROCs ran the four days of racing simultaneously on the Face of RED and Back Trail, which was exciting to watch from the deck
The atmosphere at the base was enhanced by full race commentary and music. It was a special treat to have Canadian Alpine Ski Team Alumna Erin Mielzynski on deck to assist with awards on Friday afternoon. (PHOTO ABOVE: Freshshots.ca by Steve Hilts)
The level of competition was impressive and all athletes should be extremely proud of their accomplishments. We hope the racers were able to take advantage of a few powder turns as a bonus each afternoon after racing!
Old and new friends came together at RED to pitch in and make this event a great success! Red Mountain Racers would like to thank the many volunteers, RED Mountain, and all the alpine sponsors for making this event possible.
