Another strong weekend of racing at Apex Mountain Resort as they hosted racers from all over on February 21 and 22, with light snow, cold temperatures, and windy conditions combining to create a challenging yet perfectly prepared race environment.
Despite the weather, the race course on Adrian’s Alley was in excellent shape and held up beautifully throughout the weekend. A total of 80 racers competed, with three races per day—two FIS races and one NJR—delivering a full and competitive schedule.
The event attracted athletes from Red Mountain, Okanagan Zone Team (OZT), Kootenay Zone Team (KZT), Sasquatch, Mount Washington, Whistler, Vernon Ski Team, Sun Peaks, and Mission Ridge (USA). Racers represented an impressive international field, including athletes from Canada, the United States, Switzerland, Italy, Japan, Slovakia, and Germany.
The Apex Ski Club was thrilled to host the event and welcomed the opportunity to see club alumni racing at a high level. Apex Ski Club alum Oliver Parilak delivered an outstanding performance, earning first place in the FIS race and third place in the NJR on Sunday.
