Flanked by a long list of American racers, Whistler's Manuel Osborne Paradis was one of three Canadians in the top-15 in Tuesday's Nor-Am super-G in Beaver Creek, CO. Osborne Paradis, starting in 24th spot crossed the finish in one minute 21.73 seconds for 14th place. Aaron Civitarese of Trail and the Red Mountain Racers was 22nd in 1:23.19 and James Finlayson of Whistler Mountain was 27th in 1:23.69.
Past and present BC ski team athletes are making their presence known in Colorado as the men wrap up their first of two Nor-Am super-G races in Beaver Creek Monday. Skiing for Sun Peaks Alpine, Prince George's Sean Cochrane was ninth. Manuel Osborne Paradis (Whistler Mtn.) and Robbie Dixon (Whistler Mtn.) were 18th and 19th respectively while Red Mtn. Racer alumni Scott Anderson and Aaron Civitarese were 29th and 30th. Men's FIS Nor-Am super-G action continues Tuesday on the World Cup course.
The first CIBC Wood Gundy race of the 2002-2003 season at Apex December 14-15 has been cancelled. A shortage of snow earlier in the season has resulted in the inability of athletes to adequately train prior to the race events.

Canadian skiers used home snow advantage to place three athletes in the top-15 at the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Winterstart super-G event in Lake Louise on Sunday.

As the focus shifts in Lake Louise from World Cup to Nor-Am, Fernie's Danielle Poleschuk starting in 49th, crossed the finish line in 17th in Monday's super-G action. Women's racing continues Tuesday with the second of two super-G's this week followed by three days of men's and women's downhill training. Men's and women's CIBC Nor-Am downhill action goes Saturday and Sunday in Lake Louise.
