Please accept my apologies for not joining you this weekend for your Annual General Meeting. I was looking forward to meeting with your membership and reviewing the Alpine Canada Vision for Excellence Strategic Plan.
The reason for my late cancellation, was the untimely death of my next-door neighbour, Bill Crossley, who passed away last Saturday while out hiking in the mountains. His funeral was held this Saturday. However, Bill was more than just a friend in the neighbourhood. He was a passionate skier and we had shared many runs together on the ski slopes as well as reminiscing about those days across our backyard fence. His passion for skiing was so profound
that the family asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes be made to Alberta Alpine Ski Association, with whom he had spent his best recreational hours.
I know all skiers join me in expressing our sympathy to the Crossley family and we mourn the loss of a passionate sportsman.

BC Alpine regretfully announces that due to personal unforseen circumstances, Alpine Canada Alpin President Ken Read is unable to attend the BC Alpine AGM on Saturday October 19, 2002.
The coaches start four days of meetings Thursday as BC Alpine readies for it's Fall Meetings at the Four Points Sheraton in Richmond. The Coaches Meetings, scheduled for Thursday and Friday, begin with registration at 8 a.m. Great sessions, great speakers – don't miss out! The AGM is also set with registration at 8:00 a.m. Saturday October 19. AGM will begin at 8:30 a.m. sharp at the Four Points. The AGM is $20 to include lunch and guest speaker Alpine Canada President Ken Read. Sunday October 20th is reserved for the Officials and the TD Update with registration at 8:30 and the meeting at 9 a.m. Get ready for another great season!
