Whistler's Britt Janyk led the way placing 17th in Sunday's slalom in Are, Sweden. Starting 58th, the 21-year-old finished 23rd after the first run but then went to post the sixth-fastest second leg for a combined time of 1:28.70. Forsyth followed up to finish tied for 20th (1:28.88). Janyk matched her impressive slalom runs today with her downhill performance yesterday to finish 5th in the combined.
Due to her most recent performances and also to the fact that it is past qualification deadline, Alpine Canada Alpin (ACA) has made an appeal to the Canadian Olympic Association (COA) to add Janyk to Canadian Olympic Alpine Ski Team and await their decision.
