Whistler B2B Camp Underway - BC Alpine Ski Association

The first B2B camp of the summer season got underway Sunday in Whistler (training on the Blackcomb glacier) as BC's best juvenile athletes have joined foces to train slalom and giant slalom alongside Canada's great national team members, coaches and alumni: Emily Brydon, Rob Boyd, Matt Kerr, Allison Forsyth, Dave Anderson, Britt Janyk, Scott Hume, Mike Janyk and Christina Risler. Under unbelievably hot conditions, 127 athletes, 24 club coaches and 10 guest coaches are working hard and from all reports working together to make this camp a very successful one. The camp runs throughout the week concluding July 28.

Mt. Hood, Oregon will again be a summer venue for BC Alpine's second B2B Camp. The famous summer terrain on the Palmer Snowfield glacier – at 8540 feet – is accessed by a high speed quad chairlift. The glacier is divided into two reas, a public lane, and course lanes reserved for training. BC Alpine recommends the terrain is suitable only for K2 and FIS athletes or strong K1 skiers. BC Alpine will arrange and coordinate accommodation, tickets, salt and provincial integration plan as well as assist with the dryland training.
