Keeping track of Canada's fastest ski racers at events within the country has been made easy thanks to an innovative new real-time service from Alpine Canada Alpin and its official data processing partner.
Provided by STAT Timing, the technology makes it possible for alpine racing fans around the world to catch racers' intervals, final times, and overall positioning as they speed down the course by simply visiting www.canski.org and clicking on the live timing button.
“The live timing ability is a tremendous tool, especially in a country as vast as Canada where it is impossible for all fans, parents, friends, and even the hometown media to follow our elite racers to competitions,” said Ken Read, president, Alpine Canada Alpin. “This new service allows Canadians to capture the immediate tremendous excitement of ski racing while learning more about the dynamic young racers Canada will be counting on to win World Cups in the future.”
For the 2002/2003 season, Alpine Canada Alpin will have live timing of major ski racing competitions taking place on Canadian soil, beginning with this weekend's men's and women's downhill races at the CIBC Coupe Nor Am Cup at Lake Louise, Alta., beginning on Saturday at 11 a.m. MST.
