Under partly cloudy skies and hard snow pack, Manuel Osborne Paradis skied to a 19th place finish in two minutes, 32.06 seconds. Osborne Paradis, of the BC Ski Team, started down the field in 57th. In this the first GS of the Sunday River, ME series, Julien Cousineau was the top Canadian in first place in 2:25.75 followed by a slew of American racers filling up the top-15 spots. Whistler's Scott Hume, starting 41st, crossed the line in 2:33.72 for 25th place. BC team's Robbie Dixon failed to finish his first run while former teammate, Sean Cochrane didn't start the race.
Both Christina Lustenberger and Danielle Poleschuk have recovered extremely well from their pre-Christmas mishaps and are racing in the women's Nor-Am races at Mont Garceau, Quebec. Christina Lustenberger placed 35th in 1:50.42 in the first women's GS Thursday. Danielle Poleschuk failed to finish the second run.
