Daniel Albrecht of Switzerland, and Austria's Mario Scheiber both finished the giant slalom in a combined time of two minutes, 02.72, each earning a gold medal and the title of world junior giant slalom champion. Austria's Philipp Schoerghofer finished third in 2:02.74, only two hundredths of a second behind the leaders.
