According to women's events' race chair Joan Giannelli, the women's giant slalom was cancelled due to weather, but is scheduled to take place on Saturday, with the men's giant slalom set to go on Sunday.
Other than the cancellation of Tuesday's downhill training runs as the race organizing committee adjusted its schedule to better suit the weather patterns which continue to bring moisture and mild temperatures to Whistler, Friday was the first day a race did not get underway at the Pontiac GMC Canadian Championships.
Colder temperatures are needed to ensure the Dave Murray Downhill course becomes harder for the safety of the racers competing in the speed events.
