You'd love to make it, but can't?? How about taking advantage of an opportunity to bid on a very special silent auction item? (Remember, all proceeds go to support youth alpine ski racing in BC.)
The painting you see here was created especially for the occasion to celebrate Mike Weir's victory at the Masters earlier this year. As everyone knows, Mike was the first Canadian ever to win a major, and the first left-handed golfer to win at the Masters! This commemorative painting will be displayed and available for auction at the tournament dinner on Saturday, May 24th in Kamloops.
Artist Eric Dwyer has generously donated this stunning work of art to the Alpine Classic Silent Auction. Dwyer has been involved in the sports scene professionally most of his adult life. After a long and accomplished career as an on-air personality in both sports and public affairs with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Eric decided to pursue his passion for sports artistically. He has been doing his exceptional brand of personality sketches, as well as famous golf courses and memorabilia drawings, for the past several years as a hobby and in the past couple of years semi-professionally. The year 2000 marked a major unveiling of his work internationally, as collectors in Canada and the U.S became acquainted with his work. To learn more about Eric Dwyer and his work, click on the link above, then open the Online Gallery and Search by Artist.
A minimum bid of $750.00 has been set. If you are unable to attend the Golf Tournament, but would like to bid on the painting, please email Kathy Stahr at BC Alpine.
Hope to see you on the course and thanks for your continued support!
