Safe and Sound in Switzerland | BC Alpine Ski Association

“We are really fortunate, as the conditions are no where near what they were rumoured to be”, commented Coach Nancy O'Neill. “There are presently three glaciers open in Europe, and Saas Fee is in strong condition. Certainly the snow is very hard”.

The girls are having a truly new experience, with most experiencing, for the first time, the summer Europe lift protocol (?!!!?). The girls are happy to report that they now know what their elbows are for!

All the girls are slowly adjusting to the altitude…a few dizzy days for sure, as Saas Fee village is at 5,900 and the training slope is at 11,500.

During this camp the girls will continue to progress into a gate environment with emphasis remaining on basic skills and exercises.

Stay tuned for reports written by the girls!
