Canadian Alpine Ski Team veteran Allison Forsyth and 18-year-old Sophie Splawinski of Quebec, tied for 12th place in a World Cup giant slalom Sunday, which saw a record five Canadian women qualify for the second leg.
The pair completed the newly-designed Olympia giant slalom course in a two-run combined time of two minutes, 17.45 seconds, trailing the winner, overall World Cup leader Anja Paerson, by 1.81 seconds.
