Scott Anderson of Rossland and the Red Mountain Racers is currently racing on a scholarship at Rocky Mountain College in Montana. Anderson's talent and experience showed Thursday as he skied to a fifth-place finish in Giant Slalom at the United States Collegiate Ski Association championships at Sugarloaf/USA Resort.
Anderson, in his freshman year, completed his two runs in 2:11.40. Arnold Pechlt from Sierra Nevada College in California finished first at 2:06.99.
Sierra Nevada is leading the men's team standings, followed by UBC, University of Massachusetts, Plymouth College and Boston College. The Rocky Mtn. men are sitting in sixth place. Way to go Scott!
