Thanks to the support of Red Resort, on a weekend when the mountain was already hosting many activities associated with the 104th annual Rossland Winter Carnival, the Red Mountain Racers were able to host a CIBC Wood Gundy racer series that was shifted from Salmo due to course conditions. Volunteers from the Salmo Ski Team and all Kootenay Zone clubs pitched in to help the Rossland area volunteers, and the courses held up for over 400 runs.

The Timmons brothers of Windermere Valley Ski Club ruled the weekend with remarkable consistency. Curtis grabbed the gold in all four K2 men's races while Connel won three of the four K1 men's events. Tessa Stone of Red Mountain Racers dominated the women's K1 category, with gold and silver in GS and gold in SL. Lauren Rock of Windermere Valley led the K2 women's category, with a victory in each discipline and a bronze in GS. Other racers recording wins on the weekend were Dane Tudor-Olds of Red (J1 and overall), Alexandra Cameron of Red (J1 and overall), Kaylie Gillman of Salmo (K1), Maureen O'Callaghan of Red (K1), Rachel Cohen of Kimberley (K2), Brylee Geddis of Fernie (K2), Mathew Blissett of Kimberley (K1), and Allister Smithson of Whitewater (J1).
