The Sun Peaks Alpine club and Nancy Greene invite BC Alpine Alcan NGSL skiers and parents to attend the third annual Husky Snow Stars Festival March 19 – 21, 2005.
This celebration of skiing with hundreds of young skiers from across BC will feature skiing with Nancy Greene in Sun Peaks for the culmination of the Alcan Nancy Greene Ski League (NGSL) season. The entry level ski racers, aged 5-11, will challenge themselves in the Alcan “Dual Super Slalom” competition and the Husky Snow Stars Skills Festival, supported by Alpine Canada Alpin and Husky Energy. Former Olympic Champion and Female Athlete of the Century, Nancy Greene, will be part of the festivities for the two-day event for all BC Alpine E1, E2 and Alcan NGSL members.
The Husky Snow Stars Festival will test the young skiers in a unique format of “Skill Stations” including: moguls, jumping, obstacle course and the popular “speed trap” course. Additionally, all children registered for this event will match up in the Dual Super Slalom.
“It will be an exciting event to test the skills of our young skiers in BC while giving them the opportunity to meet a skiing legend,” said Gordie Bowles, Program Director for BC Alpine. “But the most important part of this event is showing our youngsters that skiing is the most fun and exciting winter sport.”
The cost of the event is $55 which includes a t-shirt, Alcan Race, Husky Snow Stars Skills Events, Barbeque, awards and two days of skiing and socializing with Nancy Greene. To register for the Husky Snow Star Festival visit www.bcalpine.com.
