K1 Provincials wrapped up this week in Smithers. Racers, coaches and volunteers alike were treated to a warm welcome and some chilly temperatures! 84 girls and 70 boys competed in 2 GS, 2 Slalom and 2 Skills races in three days.

The guy to beat was Tyler Mackenzie of the Sun Peaks Alpine Club. In the end, he remained unbeaten, pulling off six wins in as many races! On the girls' side, Madison McLeish of the Whistler Mountain Ski Club almost completed a clean sweep of the top podium step, skiing her way to 5 gold medal performances. Her winning streak ended on the last day when teammate Heidi Mah, also of the Whistler Mountain Ski Club, took the gold in the final Skills competition.
