The young Canadian delegation did not let the 583 meter vertical drop and 2.2 kilometer-long Streif course faze its confidence on Friday during the men's super G. Wearing bib number 24, Erik Guay (Mont-Tremblant, QC) was off to a strong start when he clocked the 2nd highest speed (85 kph) and the 9th best interval of the top section. However, a mistake towards the bottom of the course and a near-fall just over the final jump pushed the skier back to 13th with a time of 1:23.62. Manuel Osborne-Paradis (Invermere, BC) was 49th, 3.31 behind the best time.
