In women's slalom racing Sunday, it was the Whistler Mountain Ski Club that ruled the podium. With a decisive lead of more than two and a half seconds over the rest of the field, Whistler's Victoria Whitney completed two runs in one minute, 9.27 seconds for the gold. Her team mate Deborah Bayliss (Whistler) skied to her best result so far this season, finishing second in 1:11.86, while Jennifer Mah (Surrey) earned her spot on the third podium step by finishing the two runs in just 1:12.18.
For the guys, it was recently retired Canadian Alpine Ski Team member Jeff Hume of Whistler who took the lead with a two-run time of 1:11.24. Sasha Zaitsoff of the Red Mountain Racers was a close second in 1:11.63 followed by Alexander Matheson (WMSC) who clocked the fastest second run of the day to finish third in 1:11.86.
