Little did ten-year-old Faelan Prentice know that the ticket he sold to next-door neighbour and family friend Fiona Bramble would be the lucky one! That’s right; Fiona bought just one ticket – not to win a car, but to support young Faelan and his ski-racing dreams. Faelan is a Nancy Greene Ski League athlete who lives in Victoria and skies with the Mt. Washington Ski Club.
Understandably, Fiona was a little suspicious when Fred Lautenschlager, Manager of Sponsorships and Promotions for GM of Canada, called her from his cell phone on Saturday after the big draw in Whistler at the Pontiac GMC Canadian Championships. “At first I didn’t remember buying the ticket, so I thought it was a scam when I heard I was the winner of a new Torrent”, exclaimed Bramble. “When I realized it was true, I was too excited to even write down Fred’s phone number! I’ve never won anything like this before.”
Fiona and her husband Eric had been talking about buying a new, roomier vehicle more suited to their active lifestyle and growing family. They have two sons – Kieran, age 11 and Truman, age 2. Together they enjoy a variety of outdoor activities that include mountain biking, rowing and camping. Their stylish, athletic 2007 Pontiac Torrent SUV will be ‘just the ticket’!
