Kimberley is hosting the 2008 K2 Gold Cup races January 31 to February 3.
This is an opportunity for Canada’s western provinces to come together for a little friendly competition – this year, only BC and Alberta will participate (Saskatchewan and Manitoba are not able to attend).
The top 30 K2 athletes from each province will battle it out to determine the overall Gold Cup Champions. Competitors will race 2 super G (best time taken), 4 giant slalom (best morning time combined with best afternoon time), 4 slalom (best morning time combined with best afternoon time).
SCHEDULE:
THURSDAY – SUPER-G TRAINING – CANCELLED BECAUSE THERE IS TOO MUCH SNOW FOR SPEED TRAINING (they did some slalom training instead)
FRIDAY – SUPER-G (1 RUN MORNING + 1 RUN AFTERNOON)
SATURDAY – GS (2 RUNS MORNING + 2 RUNS AFTERNOON)
SUNDAY – SLALOM (2 RUNS MORNING + 2 RUNS AFTERNOON)
