For those of you who have not been following our staff situation here at BC Alpine, Keven Dubinsky recently decided to accept a position at Sport BC and had agreed to stay on with us one day a week to keep our network up and running.
We posted our ads and began the process of hiring a new staff member to take his place 4 days a week. We received a number of excellent applications, but before the first interview could take place, Keven was back at his desk, having decided to leave his new job within 3 days of starting it.
"It was clear to me in the first few days that Sport BC wasn’t where I wanted to be right now. It simply wasn’t a good ‘fit’. It made sense for me to leave before I became too engaged in their organization at which point my departure would have been much more difficult for all parties involved," explained Keven about his brief time with Sport BC. "I am happy that BC Alpine was interested in taking me back in the same role I’ve held with them for the last seven years. The community and culture of ski racing in this province is a special one which I am proud to continue to have an active role in."
