Coach Professional Development Opportunities available through CSCF | BC Alpine Ski Association

Attention Clubs:  Please take note of the following coach professional development opportunities and don’t forget to sign up!

The Head Coach Leader and Advance Technical Professional Development sessions that were schedule for the 17th and 18th of November in Apex will be run on Tuesday the 18th indoor (1 day) at the Coast Capri Hotel in Kelowna at 8:30 am. The course discusses the latest technical and tactical information regarding ski racing in Canada and the world and provides great resources for the up coming season.

The Mentor Evaluator Training that was schedule on the 20th of November will now be run in Kelowna on Wednesday the 19th at 8:30 AM. (1 day only), also at the Coast Capri Hotel in Kelowna.
The Mentor training is necessary of all certified Development Level / Level 2 and Performance Level/ Level 3 coaches who will be working with Entry Level coaches in the mentoring process. Mentor Training is a necessity for Program Director, Head Coaches and Nancy Greene Head Coaches who will be training and working with Entry Level coaches. This course must be updated every 2 years.

Also take note that the Entry Level Facilitator Training (ELFT) indoor has been cancelled and the ELFT on snow has been move to Whistler on December 16th.

These course are offered through the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation (CSCF) and are a great way for Head Coaches and all Development Level/ level 2 coaches to stay up to date on the latest coaching information.

The updates count for licensing credits, which are mandatory for all Performance level/ Level 3 coaches for the 2008-2009 ski year. Yearly Licensing will become mandatory for Entry Level Certified coaches and Development Level/ Level 2 coaches start in the 2009-2010 ski season. Start collecting your credits now!
