Emily Brydon of Fernie, BC earned her first podium result on home soil, finishing Friday’s World Cup downhill race at Lake Louise in second place. It’s the best result ever by a female Canadian at Lake Louise. In the same race, Whistler’s Britt Janyk had a fantastic run, finishing just off the podium in fourth position.
In case anyone thought Brydon was just lucky on Friday, she followed it up with another podium finish in Saturday’s downhill race, claiming the bronze medal!
Congratulations also to West Vancouver’s Georgia Simmerling (Grouse Tyee) who earned her first-ever World Cup points with a 29th place result in Sunday’s super-G race at Lake Louise!
WAY TO GO BC GIRLS!!
