Leslie Clarke has recently accepted a position as Manager of Winter Sport with Canadian Sport Centre Pacific (CSC Pacific) in Whistler and will be leaving BC Alpine.

The BC Alpine Program Director provides and facilitates the technical direction and program design for BC Alpine. Reporting to the CEO, the BC Alpine Program Director’s main focus will be to help BC Alpine become a leader in performance programs with concentration on the Kinder and Junior programs, but not excluding the entry level. The person in this position will be a club/coach resource and work with the clubs and coaches to support their programs. The person will also be responsible for the High Performance Program. This includes a broad range of tasks such as planning, staffing, coach development, club communication, finance and program evaluation.
Duties
Performance
• Monitor club and zone programs recommending change in BC to make our programs the best in Canada
• Act as a facilitator to club coaches for programs and competitive system to steer our programs towards continuous improvement
• Promote and implement AIM2 across the province
• Plan and Coordinate summer and fall BC Alpine camps
• Coordinate the dryland testing protocols and data collection for BC Alpine
• Coordinate the on snow and technical direction of Provincial Kinder program
• Act as lead for the BC Games and Canada Games
• Manage and direct the Club Development Coordinator (CDC)
• Communicate with HP/Head Coach BCST coach to built continuity in the Provincial programs
• Extensive planning and implementation to facilitate an integrated program with the clubs and zones
• Coordinate the provincial programs with educational needs of our athletes
• Chair all PCC meetings
• Coordinate all National and Regional entries
• Creation of our strategic plan in accordance with AIM2
• Support and assist BCST
• Coordinate the entire High Performance Program
• Communicate with Canadian Sport Centre and coordinate all IPS coaching requirements
Program Delivery
• Help in developing an annual competition calendar in accordance with AIM2
• Ensure a coordinated effort with club coaches in the province
• Monitor participation and satisfaction in our programs
• Drive CLUB TRACK and identify best practices in clubs and create a tools to support club track initiatives
• Monitor entry level programs and work with Club Development Coordinator (CDC) to train club coaches and executive from K1 age and younger
Coaching Development
• Working with the (CDC), organize and implement coaching certification and coach education.
• Coordinate the professional development seminars bi- annually
• Ensure a coordinated effort is maintained with the BC club and zone coaches
• Communicate with clubs on coaching development, hiring, education and other best practices
• Oversee entry level program and delivery.
