"DAY 11 was bittersweet in Portillo. The training was absolutely phenomenal. Five
full length runs of super G on the Plateau (think steep, gnarly, icy) followed by
seven runs of slalom (two resets). The guys were pushed to their limits and handled
it like true professionals. Our sport hovers on the edge of controlled insanity. We
always try our hardest to provide an environment that is safe, educational, and fun.
However, due to the nature of our sport, accidents happen and today was no
exception. This morning Alix Wells, one of BC’s youngest and brightest stars, fell
during free skiing warm up and broke her leg. This comes just ten short months after
the original break took place playing soccer. Our heart goes out to Alix and her
teammates as we wish her a speedy recovery." ~ Dykster
