Whistler’s Dave Murray National Training Centre, a Vancouver 2010 Legacy | BC Alpine Ski Association

• VANOC invested over $5,000,000 to widen, contour and install snowmaking on Raven/Ptarmigan to enable the Olympic athletes to train during the Olympics.

• To complete the project and enable the agreement with VANOC for this Olympic Legacy, Whistler Mountain Ski Club, Whistler Blackcomb Foundation, Dave Murray Foundation, Vancouver Ski Foundation and others have invested over $700,000 to blast, contour, install snowmaking and the timing wires to reach all the various start and finish locations for slalom, GS and Super G.

• Also part of the agreement, Whistler Blackcomb will provide grooming, snowmaking for the next 20 years.

• Alpine athletes will share exclusive use of this area for training and racing. We will be the home of Whistler Cup, national & international alpine championships, potentially World Juniors Funds are needed for the next steps to complete our world-class training centre

1. Our aim is to raise $200,000 at this year's gala to build a finish hut at the bottom of the slalom run and 3 start huts for slalom, GS and SG. Once complete, this stage will also provide a finish viewing area for non-skiers via the top of the Olympic chair.

2. Raise approximately $400,000-$450,000 to install upgraded timing wire and fibre optic cable along with infrastructure to support cutting edge performance analysis for athletes and coaches. Install a Poma surface lift providing quick turnaround and access for slalom training.
