Janyk suffers ankle sprain, hopes to return in January
ALTA BADIA, ITALY (Dec. 16, 2011) – Slalom ace Mike Janyk will have to put his podium push on hold for a few weeks after he suffered an ankle sprain during dryland training.
The 29-year-old from Whistler, B.C., rolled an ankle and will sit out the races in Alta Badia, Italy, and Flachau, Austria, as a precaution.
Janyk has high hopes for this season and has been impressive in training, but he’s staying positive about the prospect of spending a short time on the sidelines.
