Coach Education Opportunities Available at Apex Going4Gold Speed Camp | BC Alpine Ski Association


The Canadian Ski Coaches Federation (CSCF) in partnership with Alpine Canada and BC Alpine, is offering coach education opportunities at the Osisko Going4Gold Speed Camp scheduled for January 28, 29 and 30 at Apex Mountain Resort.

This is an opportunity for coaches with Entry Level Trained status and up to work in a speed camp environment at the closest location.

This module will:

  • satisfy the speed camp component in the CSCF Development level pathway
  • satisfy all risk management and education credits for licensing
  • provide an opportunity to work with Canada's most experienced and knowledgeable coaches
  • provide an opportunity to work with former National Team athletes/ guest coaches such as Don Lyon, Kerrin Lee Gartner, Rob Boyd and more.

This is also an opportunity for coaches with Level 3 Certified or Performance Level Trained status to satisfy the requirements to achieve CSCF Speed Camp Learner Facilitator status.

Please note:

  • coaches must be in attendance for the duration of the respective camps
  • coaches must be available for debriefing sessions at the end of each day
  • to obtain full credit, coaches registering to satisfy the on hill DL Speed Module must complete the CSCF "Basic Speed Concepts" on line PD module. The cost of the module is $24.95 plus taxes.
  • there is no registration cost for the on hill modules
  • cost of travel, accommodation, meals and sundries are the responsibility of the coach
  • lift ticket discounts to be arranged upon request
