Canada Winter Games 2015 – Building Champions and Inspiring Dreams

From February 13 – March 1, 2015, Prince George will play host to 2,400 athletes, 1,000 coaches and officials, up to 4,500 volunteers, hundreds of media, and thousands of visitors.  This event will be the largest multi-sport and cultural event to ever be held in Prince George!

From February 13th to 20th the Alpine Ski and Ski Cross events will take place at Purden and Tabor Mountains.  Seven male and seven female U16 alpine athletes from each province will compete in super-G, GS, slalom and ski cross events. Two male and two female para-alpine athletes from each province will compete in GS and slalom.

Some notable alumni of past Canada Winter Games are Rob Boyd and Alison Forsyth.  In the 2014 Sochi Olympics, Robin Femy, a 2007 Canada Games alumnus, captured a gold medal as a guide for Mac Marcoux in the men's GS, a bronze medal in the super-G, and another bronze in the downhill, for visually impaired athletes.

If you would like to volunteer and be a part of these amazing events at Purden and Tabor Mountains, please contact Karen Wells at wellsk@telus.net.
