Congratulations to Max Peiffer (BCST/WMSC) and Antonia Wearmouth (BCST/Grouse Tyee). They are the 2015 Overall U18 National Champions!
The 2015 National Junior Championships wrapped up Friday with BC Ski Team teammates Max Peiffer and Antonia Wearmouth earning top honours, and the overall championship titles. Wearmouth's lead was solidified with a bronze medal in Friday's slalom race, while Peiffer's 4th place finish in the slalom was good enough to secure his overall lead in the series. They were joined on the slalom podium by Stefanie Fleckenstein (BCST/WMSC) whose two-run time earned her the silver medal, and Mitch Smith, also of the Whistler Mountain Ski Club, who jumped into 2nd place with the second fastest second run of the day!
"We are extremely proud of Max and Toni for the consistency in their skiing this week that allowed them to win the overall titles," said BC Alpine Head Coach Johnny Crichton. "It was such a great effort on the part of the whole team, everyone charging hard for gold every run. It worked out for some and not for others, but the BC Ski Team took 9 out of a possible 18 podium positions. We're happy!"
