Meg Cumming (Apex Ski Club) racing to GOLD at Mount Norquay Alberta Keurig Cup slalom

Meg Cumming of the Apex Ski Club is closing out the season on a winning streak! After clinching the BC Keurig Cup championship just days ago, Cumming pulled off a win Saturday in the first of two slalom contests at Mt. Norquay, Alberta.
Sitting second behind Tyra Collombin (Fernie Alpine Ski Team) after the first run, Cumming knew a solid second run would give her a shot at gold. Charging like she had nothing to lose, and clocking the fastest second run of the day, she edged out Collombin with a combined time of one minute, 40.28 seconds to finish in the top spot. Collombin took the silver in 1:40.94.
When asked about her win, Cumming said " It felt really good to throw one down today and come out on top."
"Meg has worked really hard this year," said coach Derek Trussler. "It has been nice to watch her progress through the end of the season. Meg loves skiing and takes pride in being the last one off the hill each day, so I am very happy and proud of her today!"
In the men's slalom, Martin Grasic of the national development team took the win, while Sam Mulligan of the BC Ski Team earned silver.
