We are excited to announce that one of the greatest Sport Science Directors in Alpine Ski Racing will be the keynote speaker at our meetings in Kelowna! Dr. Robert Reid has been instrumental in Norway´s growing success since he took on that role in 2010 and created the Sport Science Department at the Norwegian Ski Federation. His PhD in Biomechanics combined with his coaching background make him unique in our sport, and his approach to development, high performance and culture is state-of-the-art. He will be speaking to both the coaches and to the general membership.
Key points from Dr. Reid's background:
– Born in Texas, Grew up in Missouri
– 1993-1997: Assistant sport science and dryland coach, USSA; Assistant coach and teacher, Mt. Hood Academy
– 2000-2004: Dryland coach WC Men, Norwegian Alpine Ski Team
– 2004-2010: PhD in biomechanics, Norwegian School of Sport Science
– From 2010: Sport Science Director, Norwegian Alpine Ski Team
