Dear Members,
With the end of summer we are finalizing preparations for the 2014 BC Alpine Annual General Meeting. The staff and Board have worked to improve the format to deliver better communication and support to BC clubs. Based on recent feedback from some club members, we are pleased to offer an engaging agenda for this year’s Member Summit and AGM.
During the meeting a number of roundtable discussions on topics of interest will take place. All discussions are open to anyone interested in participating, and we encourage everyone to join in, particularly those who are parents of U12 athletes.
We'll start with a light lunch at 11:30 am on Saturday (October 4), and the meeting will get underway at 12 noon. We'll wrap up at about 3:00 pm on day one, and reconvene Sunday morning – continental breakfast at 8:00 am, meeting and roundtable sessions from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm.

We're excited to invite everyone back to Kelowna's Bohemian Cafe on Saturday night for the always popular social and awards banquet. Cash bar opens at 6:00 pm and dinner starts at 7:00.
Everyone planning to attend the meetings and/or the banquet is requested to sign up in advance by following the link below. Seats at the Bohemian are limited and we fill up every year, so please make sure we know you're coming!!

The Canadian Sport Institute Pacific (CSI Pacific) is pleased to confirm that the date for our next PODIUM SEARCH™ event is September 20, 2014 in Whistler, B.C.
PODIUM SEARCH™ is a free one-day athlete identification camp designed to test athletes’ capacity for sport performance at its highest level. Each PODIUM SEARCH™ participant will go through a set of basic physiological and anthropometric tests, plus one or two sport-specific tests, administered by CSI Pacific staff to find out how they measure up to National Team standards. All participants will receive their results within 10 days of the camp. On-line registration for the event is now available HERE.

Over 100 athletes from eight BC Alpine clubs converged in Whistler for a 6-day summer ski camp on Blackcomb mountain last week. Highlights included guest coaches former World Cup star Mike Janyk, Conrad Pridy, Charley Field and the current BCST Training Group.

The Whistler Mountain Ski Club has organized a training camp in La Parva, Chile, September 11 to 28, 2014. There are still a few spaces available so they have opened it up to other U16 and FIS athletes.
