Whistler Mountain Ski Club named Rob Boyd as the new Kinder II Head Coach at the Club on July 16th. “This is a great day for juvenile ski racing and a great day for our programs” said Club President Tony Holler. “Rob is a true winner and inspiring leader and we feel honoured and privileged he has agreed to join our coaching team,” he added.
Boyd, who retired from World Cup competition in 1997, won three World Cup downhill races, finished on the podium six times and had 28 top 15 finishes in his 12 year career on the Canadian National Downhill Team. During that time he also qualified for six World Championships and three Olympics. Speaking at the time of his appointment Rob said” this opportunity with the Club has started a new exciting chapter in my life and opened another door”.
