Red Mountain Racers Ski Club are in the final stages of completing a Ski Racing and School Program with School District 20. Starting in January and ending in March, this program will combine daily morning ski training and race simulation with a full afternoon school program at Rossland Secondary School (5 minutes from Red Mountain). Students will be supported by teachers who are dedicated to the success of the athletes on the snow and in the classroom. Both traditional classroom teaching and computer/Internet based schooling will be incorporated. This will allow students to have the social interaction with their peers and enable them to keep up while away at races.
Athletes must be between the ages of 11 and 18 years of age and serious about ski racing. Red Mountain Racers would like to hear from interested racers (or their parents) that would like to participate in this program. There is a 30 student/athlete limit and to date 10 have already signed up.
The price for the school is expected to be $400 or less per month for student/athletes. There will also be coaching costs from Red Mountain Racers (http://www.redmountainracers.com/home.html)and accommodation and food will be the responsibility of the athlete.
