Today's the day as Pontiac Montana sales wrap up around the province. Clubs are urged to express post their tickets to BC Alpine if they have not already done so. Tickets and money not received by 5 p.m. Tuesday are not guaranteed entry into Saturday's draw at the Sierra Wireless Air Canada Whistler Cup April 6, 2002.

Looking to finish the season in fine form, Whistler's Scott Hume topped the entire field Friday in the men's giant slalom in Rossland. Starting in 10th spot, Hume finished the day on the “Face of Red” with a two run time of one minute 51.20 edging out Cameron Barnes (Alberta) and Michael Janyk (Whistler) for top spot. Other notables on the BC team included Sean Cochrane (Prince George) in fifth, Manuel Osborne Paradis (North Vancouver) in eighth, Aaron Civitarese (Trail) 11th and Graham Kraft (Vernon) 12th. Nabob Spring Series action continues through this Easter Weekend concluding Monday.

Congratulations to Evan Moore (Vernon) who will represent BC on Team Canada at the Sierra Wireless Air Canada Whistler Cup April 5-7, 2002. Moore will be joined by 121 K1 and K2 athletes from British Columbia as they prepare to battle the world at the second largest international juvenile ski race on the planet. Congratulations and Good Luck to all athletes!

Competition wrapped up Saturday at the Merrill Lynch Canadian National Juveniles in Panorama with a men's and women's super g. The women had three top-15 finishes with Kendall Benbow (Whistler) on a hot streak in sixth, Jennifer Graham (Mt. Washington) 14th and Alison Leighton (Whistler) 15th. On the men's side, Jeff Hutton (Grouse) was tied for sixth with Tyler Nella (Prince George) while Jason Serwa (Big White) was 17th. In the overall standings, Team BC (3769 points) finished 4th behind Quebec (10,548), Alberta (9160) and Ontario (8574) at this year's Juveniles.
