The K1 Merrill Lynch Kootenay-Okanagan inter-zone race originally scheduled for February 2-3 at Red Mountain has been moved to Salmo. Please note that the dates remain the same, only the location has been changed.
Starting the series with a bang, BC Ski Team athletes Jennifer Bertram and Katie McMillan stood proudly atop the women's GS podium for a second straight day in Pontiac GMC Cup action at Mt. Norquay Friday. Bertram of Whistler and McMillan of Prince George finished in 2:08.48 and 2:10.79 for first and third spots respectively. On the men's side, rookie Robbie Dixon shocked the crowd and the coaches with his stellar second place finish in 2:01.56 just shy of Brian Bennett of the Whistler Mountain Ski Club in top spot. Dixon who won the second run walked away with a solid second place in the men's giant slalom.

Rossland's David Anderson had a stellar day on the slopes of Tarvisio, Italy nailing a fourth place finish in Wednesday's Europe Cup Super-G. The 22-year-old Anderson finished tied for fourth in an incredibly strong European field. Anderson clocked a time of 1:40.78, tying with Italy's Michael Gulfer. The pair missed the podium by 0.32 seconds. Jeff Hume (Whistler) capped off his day in 22nd place.

Trail native Aaron Civitarese stormed the pack winning both runs to take top spot in the Men's GS at Mt. Norquay Thursday. Civitarese, in his fourth year with the team, takes his first podium of the season. Former teammate, Brian Bennett of Whistler took second place and Graham Kraft of Vernon rounded out the top-5 in fifth.
A banner day for the Women's BC Ski Team as BC nailed the top three spots in Thursday's Pontiac GMC Cup GS opener at Mt. Norquay, Alberta. Whistler's Jennifer Bertram, Stephanie McDougall and Prince George's Katie McMillan came in 1-2-3 for the first BC sweep of the season.
