In the 2015-16 season and the 2016-17 season, the Canada Ski Cross team earned the most World Cup points by a nation.

The Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup tour descends on Nakiska Ski Area, Alta. this week, including Canada’s biggest stars. Nakiska Ski Area will host the final World Cup race before the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. The 2018 Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup at Nakiska supported by Mackenzie Investments is on Saturday, January 20, beginning at 11:30AM.
The Canada Ski Cross team has been a force on the World Cup tour this year, picking up seven podium finishes. Both the men’s and ladies’ teams have contributed to Canada’s success. Chris Del Bosco, Kevin Drury, Kelsey Serwa, Georgia Simmerling, Britt Phelan and India Sherret have all stood on the podium.
Veterans Del Bosco, Serwa and Simmerling have been long-standing members of the team with great success on the World Cup tour, proving that experience continues to pay off in this relatively new sport. Rookie athletes on the team have been demonstrating Canada’s deep pool of Next Gen athletes and the strength of the Canada Ski Cross program. Kevin Drury, Britt Phelan and India Sherret all achieved career-first podium finishes this season.
Notably missing from the weekend roster will be the reigning Olympic champion, Marielle Thompson, who suffered a knee injury in the fall. She has been diligently rehabbing.
From BC we will be watching BC girls Georgia Simmerling, Tiana Gairns, Kelsey Serwa and India Sherrit – all qualified to race Saturday! http://medias4.fis-ski.com/pdf/2018/FS/8115/2018FS8115RLQ.pdf

Boys GS Podium – Saturday AM

Girls GS Podium – Saturday AM
Teck U14 BC Alpine Coast Zone races were held January 13 and 14 on Whistler Mountain. The weather cooperated and the event flowed smoothly under the direction of Chief of Race Jason Shorter. The athletes were excited to get their first taste of competition for the season and cheered on their fellow racers from WMSC, Grouse, Cypress, Mt. Seymour, Mt. Washington and Hemlock. The weekend consisted of two one-run GS races per gender on Saturday and two one-run slalom races per gender on Sunday – and the competition was a qualifier for the upcoming BC Winter Games. All the kids and volunteers had a great time listening to announcer Brett Tippie, and there were surprise appearances from Marielle Thompson amd Britt Tilston who helped had out the awards. Thanks also to Rachel Paterson from Teck who also came out to congratulate our racers and present awards over the weekend.
